The fruit of the Noni plant looks like a small, bumpy potato, green at first, turning to a yellowish white when ripe. People living on the islands in present day French Polynesia and Hawaii have used Noni for thousands of years. Noni is believed to have been first used by the ancient Polyneasian people about 5,000 years ago. The Noni plant was spread throughout the tropical Island chains during the early human migration in the South Pacific Ocean help to spread Noni’s journey to Hawaii is believed to have started 3,00 years ago from the Island of New Guinea Northward to the islands of Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, and then towards the Marquesas Islands through Tahiti arriving on what is now the North shore of Oahu about 1,600 years ago. The Pacific
Islanders began using Noni in all their preparations, making the Noni
fruit the healthy foundation of their civilization as they established
new villages. Noni fruit was called "canoe" fruit
because it was chosen by the pioneers as an important food to bring along
in their canoes as they ventured out to establish new villages across
the great expanse of the Pacific Ocean. TRU NONI uses traditional Hawaiian organic framing methods to grow the Noni fruit in nutrient rich soil of the Hawaiian Islands.
