Our journey begins with the young Noni plants raised from seedlings. The plants you see here are about the same size the early Polynesians first carried over from Tahiti when they arrived on Oahu about 1,600 years ago. Noni gets one of its names, “canoe plant” because it was one of nineteen plants brought by the early settlers across the large expanse of the Pacific Ocean in canoes to the Hawaiian Islands. |
